Information and Communication Technology is now

part of our students' ever changing world and is seen as an important

and necessary life skill and experience. The British International

School-Cairo, has responded to these demands by constantly

reviewing and upgrading its ICT facilities. This has led to the

acquisition of hardware enabling the school to create two suites of

networked PC workstations in dedicated ICT teaching rooms plus

further wireless portable computers that are used across each

curriculum area.

Additional hardware provides many other dedicated servers throughout

the whole school. This allows work to be developed and completed

using industry standard software and that enables an information

research capability throughout all areas of the curriculum.

A wide variety of software is available covering the areas of word

processing, graphics, data handling and desktop publishing as well

as other specialist applications. Students have access to the facilities

outside the normal lesson times, which are in considerable demand at

break times, before and after school.

BISC (ICT) believes that developing real world ICT skills is a critical part of

the education that our students experience. We are committed to investing

in a state of the art network and providing ICT facilities that are enjoyable,

useful and reliable.
